Accepted by the card: general cargo, oversized items such as furniture, appliances, machinery and aluminium profiles, FBA shipments, cosmetics and skincare, food without meat, egg or dairy, health supplements, and liquids and creams on the MG lanes.
Not accepted at all: counterfeit or branded goods, weapons and replicas, pure batteries and power banks, mobile phones on selected lanes, pharmaceuticals, flammable, explosive or corrosive goods, unknown powders and liquids, antiques, currency and stamps, live animals and human remains, and food on general lanes.
MG lanes in practice: an ingredient list is required before booking, the lane clears formally at Vancouver and Toronto, and labelling and product compliance with Canadian requirements remain the shipper's responsibility. We confirm in writing what the lane accepts before you commit the goods.
Packaging, surcharges, liability
Packaging and pallets
- Wooden crates are accepted on the Canadian lanes with hinged lids and 10 cm forklift feet.
- FBA cartons: at least two labels per carton, “Team Lift” above 22.5 kg and “Heavy Package” above 15 kg.
- LCL volume is measured and rounded to one decimal place; dense cargo converts at 1 CBM = 400 kg.
Surcharges on top of the band
- Customs documentation handling: RMB 500 per shipment via Vancouver, RMB 350 via Toronto.
- MG lanes: pieces between 22 kg and 29 kg carry an extra RMB 180 per piece.
- Dense-cargo conversion where weight exceeds 400 kg per CBM.
- Peak season (mid-November to February) adds carrier peak surcharges and excludes delay compensation.
Claims and liability
- Report window: 20 days for parcels not yet picked up, 60 days from label creation while in transit, 7 days after delivery.
- Air compensation is RMB 40 per kg without a freight refund; sea is RMB 20 per kg; after hand-over to the last-mile carrier liability is capped at USD 100 per shipment.
- Fragile goods damage and partial loss are excluded, and no delay compensation applies in peak season.
The 14 truck-lane city zones
The LCL lanes are priced by port region rather than by city: one rate table for Vancouver and the Lower Mainland (including the FBA warehouse line) and one for Toronto and Ontario. The oversized truck lane is priced per city zone, and that is where distance from the port shows up: Vancouver and Calgary sit at RMB 1,650-2,400 per CBM, while Halifax is RMB 2,850-3,850 per CBM. Where these numbers come from
Rate card: our contracted forwarder's tariff for China → Canada, effective 22 September 2026, issued in RMB (CNY). This page publishes the band and starting rate per lane and city zone. The full tariff behind it contains every CBM-band and weight-band price, which is why the binding figure is confirmed per shipment rather than published.
What was extracted: 6 Canadian door-to-door services — Vancouver LCL, Toronto LCL, the oversized truck lane (14 city zones) and three MG express lanes (cosmetics, food, other) — with the CBM and weight bands, the 1 CBM = 400 kg dense-cargo rule, the 19 destination region mappings, packaging rules, prohibited goods and claims windows.
Calculation method: chargeable volume = max(measured CBM, weight ÷ 400 for dense cargo), rounded to one decimal, minimum 0.1 CBM; the volume band is chosen from chargeable volume and the city zone sets the rate range. MG express lanes are billed per kilo on tiered bands from 10-45 kg to 500 kg+, with a 10 kg minimum and 29 kg maximum per piece.
Currency conversion: USD / EUR / GBP figures use indicative rates (1 RMB = 0.1395 USD, 0.1285 EUR, 0.1105 GBP) for orientation only; the rate card itself is issued in RMB.

Three Things Decide What You Pay
Canadian LCL and truck lanes bill per cubic metre, rounded to one decimal. Dense cargo converts at 1 CBM = 400 kg, so 2 CBM of heavy hardware weighing 1,000 kg is billed as 2.5 CBM. Furniture and other bulky goods travel on their actual volume, which is where LCL wins.
Vancouver is the cheapest gateway and the FBA warehouse line is cheaper again. Toronto clearance costs more per CBM, and cities that need a long truck leg — Montreal, Quebec City, Halifax — sit at the top of the range. The same carton can cost twice as much to Halifax as to Vancouver.
General and oversized cargo travels on the LCL and truck lanes. Cosmetics, food without meat / egg / dairy and other restricted categories travel on the MG express lanes, priced per kilo with an ingredient list required before booking — more paperwork, but a controlled lane that clears formally.

How much does it cost to ship from China to Canada?+
On the September 2026 rate card behind this calculator, DDP door-to-door LCL sea freight from China to Canada runs about RMB 1,450-3,300 per CBM depending on your city zone, and the oversized truck lane RMB 1,650-3,850 per CBM. Vancouver is the cheapest gateway (Vancouver LCL from RMB 1,750 per CBM, or RMB 1,450 per CBM to FBA warehouses), Toronto LCL runs RMB 1,550-2,250 per CBM, and eastern cities such as Halifax and Quebec are the most expensive. Express MG lanes for cosmetics, food and other restricted categories are priced per kilo, from RMB 17 per kg.
Why is Canada priced per CBM instead of per kilo?+
Because Canadian LCL and truck lanes are quoted by volume, not weight. The rate card bills per cubic metre, with one decimal place, and for dense cargo it converts weight to volume at 1 CBM = 400 kg. So a 1.2 CBM shipment of heavy hardware is billed on whichever is greater - the measured volume or weight divided by 400 - and the calculator does that conversion for you and flags it when the shipment is dense.
How long does shipping from China to Canada take?+
Vancouver LCL is 25-30 days door to door. Toronto LCL and the MG express lanes are 35-40 days door to door, clearing formally at Vancouver and Toronto. The oversized truck lane runs 30-40 days door to door depending on the city zone, with Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver the quickest and Halifax the slowest. Transit times are counted from sailing, so add the consolidation and loading time in China.

What are the minimum billing rules?+
The LCL lanes start at 0.1 CBM and are rounded to one decimal place, with tiers at 0.1-1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 10 and 20 CBM - the more volume you ship, the lower the per-CBM rate. The MG express lanes start at 10 kg per piece with a maximum of 29 kg per piece (22-29 kg carries an extra RMB 180 per piece), billed in tiered bands from 10-45 kg up to 500 kg+.
Can you ship cosmetics, skincare or food to Canada?+
Yes, on the MG express sea lanes: cosmetics and skincare from RMB 17 per kg, food without meat, egg or dairy from RMB 17 per kg, and other MG cargo such as liquids, creams and supplements from RMB 19-25 per kg. These lanes clear formally at Vancouver and Toronto with a 35-40 day transit time, and an ingredient list is required before booking. Labelling and compliance with Canadian rules remain the shipper's responsibility - we confirm what the lane accepts before you commit.
Do you deliver to Amazon FBA warehouses in Canada?+
Yes. Vancouver FBA warehouses (YVR1-4 and YXX) have their own rate line at RMB 1,450 per CBM - the cheapest LCL rate on the card. FBA cartons need at least two labels each, "Team Lift" above 22.5 kg and "Heavy Package" above 15 kg, and your FBA shipment ID and appointment requirements are handled at booking. Toronto FBA deliveries run on the Toronto LCL lane.
